Sam is a dedicated Sports and Exercise Physician Registrar with a diverse background in healthcare and sports. He brings valuable experience to his specialty training. Before beginning this path, Sam worked as an orthopaedic registrar on the Gold Coast, within one of Queensland’s busiest departments.
A lifelong passion for sports and exercise medicine has shaped Sam’s career. Originally from Brisbane and raised in country Victoria, Sam’s early experiences playing tennis at a national level sparked his interest in sports medicine. This passion led him to become a physiotherapist on the Gold Coast, where he worked with the Gold Coast SUNS and at a well-established sports medicine clinic.
In these roles, Sam collaborated closely with multidisciplinary teams in both community and sports settings. Working alongside Sports and Exercise Physicians and Orthopaedic Surgeons further fuelled his desire to continue his education and pursue a career in medicine.
Now, Sam is focused on advancing his expertise in sports and exercise medicine. He has a special interest in acute knee and shoulder injuries, early management of knee osteoarthritis, and bone stress injuries. Sam combines his extensive clinical experience with a genuine passion for helping active individuals and athletes achieve optimal health and performance.
